LOBAK MASIN (CHAI PO) / HOMEMADE SALTED WHITE RADISH

Homemade Salted White Radish (Chai Po)

Ingredients

1 white radish cut in 2-inch and cut wedges
3 tablespoons salt
3 tablespoons sugar
1 teaspoon dates vinegar
Water

Methods

  1. Boil water with salt, sugar and dates vinegar to a boil. Turn off the heat. 
  2. Let it cool. 
  3. Put the white radish into the cool boiled water.  
  4. Fill soaked white radish into the bottle and put in the dark for 2 weeks. 
  5. Tossed the soaked white radish after 15 days and sun dried it for 1 week. 
  6. Ready to eat with chicken porridge, nothern rice noodle soup or Johore laksa
Lobak Masin (Chai Po) 

Bahan-bahan

1 batang lobak putih dipotong 2 inci dan dipotong wedges
3 sudu besar garam
3 sudu besar gula
1 sudu teh cuka kurma
Air

Langkah-langkah

  1. Panaskan air bersama garam, gula dan cuka sehingga mendidih. Matikan api.  Biarkan sehingga sejuk. 
  2. Masukkan lobak putih yang dipotong ke dalam air yang telah sejuk. 
  3. Isikan ke dalam botol dan biarkan sehingga 2 minggu di tempat gelap. 
  4. Toskan lobak setelah mencapai 15 hari dan dijemur pada panas matahari selama 1 minggu untuk mendapatkan hasil yang baik. 
  5. Siap untuk dimakan bersama bubur nasi ayambihun sup utara atau laksa Johor.

    2. Tq share resepi ni. Kalau kat utaqa mudah nak dapat yang halal. Kat klang ni payah. Tak sedap makan bihun sup takda lobak masin. Macam sesuatu hilang disitu.

  2. Bought white radish last night.. browse thru internet. Found your blog...all other ingredients are available in the kitchen..done!.. waiting for the next 2 weeks... TQ for sharing the recipe..

  3. Thanks for the recipe. Today I have taken out the white radish and will start sun drying them. Can't wait to try them when they are Ready. My late mom used to cut them into small pieces and fry with anchovies and slices of chillies.
